Vext - Recognition / Bubble
Cosmic drum & bass excursions
Two solid, sprawling tracks of spacey jungle / DnB trippage from Vext aka Coventry producer Gavin Watton, circa 1996.
Strobing synths and a soaring vocal give the A side a (tasteful) touch of trance, while hard flanged percussion and chunky hand-chopped breaks keep things grounded. The flip is a propulsive roller, with snappy hat/snare tingle over a massive 3-note sub, all fully marinated in cosmic pads.
A nicely tuned pair of liquid DnB tools. Nothing groundbreaking, but eminently rinsable when you're in search of space.
